Ten-year-old Annie lives in a New York orphanage with other girls under the supervision of a teacher, Colleen Hannigan, a former singer who did not have a life. When Annie returns home after an unsuccessful attempt to find out something about her parents, she sees two guys mocking the dog and trying to stop them. Annie nearly gets under the car, but Will Stax rescues her. The incident video goes online and Staks’s rating is growing. His adviser offers Stax to find Annie to use to increase her rating.
