He graduated from the Paris Conservatory (1931) in the class of Alfred Brun , also studied under the supervision of George Enescu and Boris Kamensky .
He played a lot in duet with his wife, pianist Jeanette Douyen , recorded with her all the sonatas of Ludwig van Beethoven and a number of other works. He was also a member of the piano trio with Paul Badura-Skoda and Antonio Yanigro . He taught at the music school Marguerite Long and Jacques Thibault , then in 1966-1979. at the Paris Conservatory.
