Biography
Born in Vienna on August 13, 1865 . For some time she taught at various schools in Vienna, from 1891 she worked in the urban school for girls.
In 1899, Johanna Vitasek began studying botany at the Vienna Museum of Natural History under the direction of Richard Wettstein . Recycled systematics kind Kalliantemm .
Several publications I. Vitasek devoted to the genus Kolokolchik . It is known that she used the binomial nomenclature for the names of the subspecies.
In 1908, Johanna wrote a monograph of the Family of Solanaceae on the results of a study of samples brought by Wettstein from an expedition to Brazil . In 1910 she published another monograph on the nightshade - on samples brought from Ost-India by Karl Rehinger in 1905.
