Daughter of Hugo XII de Lusignan , Count de La Marche and d'Angoule, and Jeanne de Fougeres .
Around 1273, the Breton seigneur Fougere inherited from her mother. Yolanda’s brother, Guy I de Lusignan , bequeathed to her on September 22, 1304 the possession of the house of the Lusignans , but after his death in 1308, Philip IV the Beautiful decided to join these lands to the royal domain. As early as 1301, he lent to Count Hugo XIII a large sum secured by counties, which allowed him to claim an inheritance, which was disputed by several applicants.
Soon after the death of Guy, accused of treason, Philip confiscated La Marsh and Angouleme. In 1308-1309, the king of France, through various financial transactions, bought the inheritance rights from the sisters of Yolanda - Jeanne de Lusignan, Maria, Countess de Sancerre, as well as from Emard de Valence . An agreement was concluded with Yolanda, according to which she kept usufruct with La Marche and Angouleme.
