History
Under the Western Jin Empire, Meixian County was established here (郿 县). After conquering Early Zhao, it was renamed Meicheng (城县).
In the era of the Southern and Northern dynasties, these lands more than once passed from hand to hand, and their administrative structure changed greatly. Under the empire of Northern Wei in 445, Meicheng County was renamed Pingyang (平阳县). When the empire of Western Wei in 538, the name Meicheng was returned to him.
Under the empire of Northern Zhou, the county of Wentang (温汤 县) was created in 561, occupying the territory of the western part of the modern county of Zhouchji and the lands of the modern county of Meixian, southeast of the Weishui River. In 574, Meicheng and Wentan counties were annexed to Zhoucheng County (周 城县).
Under the Sui empire, in 598, Zhoucheng County was renamed Weibin (渭滨 县). In 606, Weibin County was renamed Meixian (郿 县). In 618, the eastern part of Meixian County was allocated to a separate Fengquan County (凤 泉 县). When the Tang Empire in 634, Fengquan County was re-incorporated into Meixian County.
After the Mongol conquest, Meixian county was raised in 1279 in status to the Meizhou region (郿 статус), and its eastern part was allocated to a separate Shilin county (柿 林 县). In 1335, the area was again demoted to pre-county status, and Shilin County was re-incorporated into Meixian County.
During the civil war, these places were occupied by communist troops in July 1949. In 1950, the Baoji Special District (宝鸡 专区) was created, and the county became part of it. In 1956, the Baoji Special District was disbanded, and the county became directly subordinate to the authorities of Shaanxi Province. In 1958, Meixian County was annexed to Zhouzhi County. In September 1961, the Baoji Special District was created again, and the restored Meixian County became part of it. In 1964, due to the state policy on simplification of hieroglyphs, the official spelling of the name of the county was changed from 郿 to 眉县. In 1969, the Baoji Special District was renamed Baoji District (宝鸡 地区). In 1971, Baoji District was again disbanded, and the county became subordinate to the authorities of Baoji City. In 1979, Baoji County was created again, and the county became subordinate to the county authorities.
In 1980, the Baoji district and the city of Baoji were disbanded, and the Baoji City District was created; the county became part of the urban district.
Administrative division
The county is divided into 1 street committee and 7 villages .
Notes
- ↑ In accordance with the rules of the Russian name for Chinese toponyms, if the Chinese name consists of one syllable, then a Chinese word is added to it, denoting the type of toponym (“county”, “mountain”, “river”, etc.), so that the Russian name It was at least double-complex.
