The 139th Guards Fighter Aviation Smolensky Red Banner Order of the Kutuzov Regiment ( 139th Guards IAP ) is a military unit of the Air Force of the Red Army, which took part in the hostilities of the Great Patriotic War .

The 139th Guards Fighter Aviation Smolensk Regiment was formed on April 14, 1944 by converting from the 20th Fighter Aviation Regiment to the Guards Regiment for exemplary performance of combat missions and shown courage and heroism on the basis of the Order of the NPO of the USSR [1] .

Disbandment of the Regiment

The 139th Guards fighter aircraft Smolensky Red Banner Order of Kutuzov regiment was disbanded from October 15 to October 18, 1964 as part of the 15th Air Defense Corps .

Honorary Names
