Distribution
It occurs in East Asia: Japan , Kyushu, Fukuoka Prefecture [1] [2] .
Description
Small-sized ants are yellowish-brown in color (1-2 mm). 3-pronged mandibles. The body is densely covered with short hairs that are longer on the abdomen; basal region of the 2nd, 3rd and 4th abdominal segments without hairs. Head longer than its width. Antennae 12-segmented. Scape of antennae short (shorter than head). There is no methanotal groove. The stalk between the breast and the abdomen consists of two nodular segments ( petiol and postpetiol). Close to Leptanilla besucheti . The species was described in 1960 by the Japanese worldmecologist K. Yasumatsu (Yasumatsu, Keizo; 1908-1983) and named after Mrs. K. Morimoto and R. Morimoto, who collected the type series [1] [ 2] .
