Kozlov, Vladimir Fotievich

Vladimir Fotievich Kozlov (born January 16, 1955 , Grodno , Belorussian SSR ) is a Soviet and Russian historian, Moscow local historian, and editor-in-chief of the Publishing Center Moskovedenie. Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor.

Biography

Born in a military family.

From 1976 to 1981 he studied at the Moscow Historical and Archival Institute . In 1984, after defending his dissertation, he began teaching at his native archival institute. Since 1999 - Associate Professor; soon became the head of the department of regional history and regional studies of the historical-archival institute of the RSUH .

In the early 1990s, he published a series of articles on the destruction of monuments of church architecture in the magazines Architecture and Construction of Moscow and the Moscow Journal .

He is the chairman of the Moscow Local History Society and the chairman of the Union of Local History of Russia . Together with V. A. Manykin, he published a review: “Moscow Archives: 200 Years” (M., 1996).

He is a member of the expert committee of the Committee for the award of the modern Makaryev Prize .

He was awarded the orders of the Russian Orthodox Church: St. Macarius, Metropolitan of Moscow III degree (2003) and St. Prince Daniel of Moscow III degree (2007); is a laureate of the Prize of the Government of the Russian Federation in the field of education (1999) and the Prize of the D. S. Likhachev Foundation (2008).
