Robert Adolfovich Minlos ( February 28, 1931 - January 9, 2018 ) - Soviet and Russian mathematician , doctor of physical and mathematical sciences, specialist in the field of statistical physics, functional analysis and probability theory.

Born in the family of Adolf Davidovich Miller, professor of the Institute of Oriental Studies (1895–?), Co-author of English-Russian dictionaries and teaching aids for students of English, and local historian Nora Romanovna Minlos (1900-1943) [1] . Native uncle (mother's brother) - candidate of historical sciences Bruno Robertovich Minlos (1896-1942, repressed), in 1921-1922. was in the RCP (b), worked at the Institute of International Relations and the People’s Commissariat of Foreign Affairs, author of works on the modern history of Spain [2] [3] . A.F. Miller lived in Bolshoy Kazhenny lane, house 5, apt. 12 [4] , however R. Minlos never lived with his father, he and his mother lived at 40 Yakimanka address.
He graduated from the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of Moscow State University in 1954. In 1968 he defended the dissertation of a doctor of physical and mathematical sciences. Since 1990 - professor [5] . In 1996, he headed the Dobrushinsky Mathematical Laboratory at the IPPI RAS [6] [7] [8] .
Awards: State Prize of the RSFSR in the field of science and technology (1990) [9] [10] , International Dobrushin Prize (2008) [11] [12] , “ Life devoted to mathematics ” (2014) [13] .
