Biography
Club career
Rugby has been practicing since 5 years. Throughout his career he played for the Toulouse club, spent the last season of 2007/2008 in Aviron Bayonne. The end of his career was announced on December 31, 2008 [1] .
Team Career
He made his debut on March 7, 1998 in a match against Ireland . Spent 32 games and scored 35 points. Vice-champion of the world in 1999, won the main prize and the Grand Slam at the Five Nations Cup 1998 and the Six Nations Cup 2002.
Injury
Javier underwent surgical interventions several times: in 1995 at the World Junior Championship, he received an injury to his left knee (rupture of the cruciate ligaments), which affected his further performances. In 2003, due to a relapse, he missed the matches of the entire World Cup in Australia and did not play almost all of 2004. He returned to rugby only on August 27, 2005 in a match with the “ Sex Palois ”.
Coaching career
From 2008 to 2014 he trained the junior team of Toulouse, from June 2014 to 2018 he was in the coaching staff of Atlantic Stud Rochelle together with Patrice Collazo and Fabrice Ribeirol , training three-quarter players and honing their rugby equipment [2] . In the season 2018/2019 he was the head coach of Stud Rocherle, and since 2019 he has been appointed coach of the Montpellier Hero club
Beyond Gaming
In the 2013/2014 season, Javier was a leading sports program on Sud Radio , and since 2014 has been working as a commentator and TV presenter on the Eurosport channel.
