Club career
Benitez began his football career in the local club “ Sherry ”, speaking in the third division . In 1970, he moved to another Andalusian team “ Real Betis ”, having managed to win the Segunda with her in the very first season, thereby achieving an exit to La Liga .
Benitez's first match in the main Spanish football league took place on October 3, 1971 in a guest losing match (0: 2) against Valencia .
