Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau , the county’s total area is 7,487,000 km 2 , of which 7,437,000 km 2 are land and 49,000 km 2 or 0.660% are water bodies.
Population
According to the 2000 census [1] , 3,363 residents of 1,429 households and 937 families live in the okrug. The population density is 0.50 people per km 2 . On the territory of the okrug, there are 1,854 residential buildings, with a building density of about 0.25 buildings per km 2 . Racial composition of the population: white - 96.64%, African - Americans - 0.15%, Native Americans ( Indians ) - 1.64%, Asians - 0.24%, Hawaiians - 0.00%, representatives of other races - 0.51 %, representatives of two or more races - 0.83%. Hispanics accounted for 0.74% of the population, regardless of race .
Of the total number of households , 27.30% are children under the age of 18, 57.80% of households are couples living together, 5.20% of households are single women without a spouse, 34.40% of households households are not related to families , 32.90% of households consist of one person, 17.50% of households consist of elderly people (65 years and older) living alone. The average household size is 2.31 people and the average family size is 2.93 people.
The age composition of the district: 24.10% under the age of 18, 5.60% from 18 to 24, 23.40% from 25 to 44, 23.20% from 45 to 64, and 23.20% from 65 and older.
