Berberis haoi (lat.) - a species of dicotyledonous plants of the genus Barberry ( Berberis ) of the family Barberry ( Berberidaceae ). First described by the botanist Ying Zunsheng in 1999 [2] [3] .

In some sources, the taxon is considered synonymous with Berberis vernae CKSchneid. [4] .
Endemic to China , known from Gansu [5] .
It grows along the banks of rivers [5] .
Shrub about 1 m high. The branches are bare, purplish-brown in color, covered with pale yellow spines 1-1.5 cm long [5] .
The leaves are pale green, narrowly obovate or narrowly elliptic, glabrous, noticeably sinewy [5] .
The inflorescence is racemose, has 6-10 flowers each [5] .
The fruit is a oblong-elliptical berry, has two seeds. Fruits in June [5] .
