According to the US Census Bureau , the total area of the county is 1,367.521 km 2 , of which 145.040 km 2 are land and 31.080 km 2 , or 2.200%, are water bodies.
Population
According to the 2000 census [1] , the district has 82,874 residents comprising 31,769 households and 22,683 families . The population density is 61.00 people per km 2 . There are 33,796 residential buildings in the district, with a building density of about 25.00 buildings per km 2 . Racial composition of the population: white - 95.50%, African - Americans - 1.05%, Native Americans ( Indians ) - 0.40%, Asians - 1.49%, Hawaiians - 0.03%, representatives of other races - 0.44 %, representatives of two or more races - 1.09%. Hispanics made up 1.55% of the population, regardless of race .
Of the total number of households , 34.90% are children under the age of 18 years, 60.10% of households are married couples living together, 8.10% of households are single women without a spouse, 28.60% of households households are not related to families , 23.50% of households consist of one person, 9.00% of households consist of elderly people (65 years and older) living alone. The average household size is 2.56 and the average family size is 3.04.
The age structure of the district: 26.90% under the age of 18, 8.70% from 18 to 24, 29.20% from 25 to 44, 23.20% from 45 to 64, and 23.20% from 65 and older.
