The 1979 Scottish Cup Final is a three-match match between the Scottish Cup 1978/79 and the Rangers and Hibernian rivals.

The first match, held May 12, 1979 at the Hampden Park Stadium in Glasgow , ended in a goalless draw ^[1] . Four days later, the teams met again in the same arena - the score was 0-0 again ^[2] . Finally, in the second replay, the winner was revealed - the Rangers became the owners of the Scottish Cup, who in extra time were able to tip the scales to their side thanks to the own goal of the Hibernian player Arthur Duncan ^[3] .
