The station has been under construction since 2013. It is planned that the construction will be completed in 2015, after which the final capacity of the station will be 579 MW [1] .
Solar Star includes two units that are being built in parallel. In accordance with the project, the power plant should use more than 1.7 million photovoltaic modules produced by the American company SunPower and located on an area of 13 km 2 .
Solar Star, along with other renewable energy projects, is being implemented as part of California’s goal of providing 33% of its energy consumption from renewable sources by 2020 [2] .
