Biography

Born March 31 ( April 12 ), 1836 ; came from a family of nobles of the Poltava province [1] .

Initially brought up in the Alexander Cadet Corps for minors [2] . He received his subsequent education in the First Cadet Corps , from where in 1856 the Volyn Life Guards Regiment was sent to the rank of ensign.

He continued his studies at the Mikhailovsky Artillery Academy , after which von Bohl was appointed professor of physics at the First Cadet Corps. Some time later, Vladimir Georgievich von Bool was transferred to the post of class inspector in the Petrovsky Poltava Cadet Corps , where his pedagogical talent was fully manifested. In 1884, von Bohl was appointed Class Inspector of the 3rd Military. Alexander School [3] .

After moving to Moscow , he became an active member of the Moscow branch of the Russian Imperial Technical Society and for four years helped edit his main printed publication, Notes of the Imperial Russian Technical Society [3] [4] .

He died on December 2 ( 14 ), 1899 , after a serious long illness [1] .

V. G. von Bohl compiled a series of textbooks in physics, mathematics, and geography. His articles were published, starting in 1865, in The Teacher , The Pedagogical Collection, The People’s School , The Art Collection, The Kievites and other printed publications of the Russian Empire . He also wrote “ Memoirs of a teacher, ” in which he sets out in detail his time in the Tsarskoye Selo Aleksandrovsky corps, in the 1st cadet corps and in the Mikhailovsky artillery academy, describes, as an eyewitness, the conversion of old cadet corps into military gymnasiums and vice versa, giving a number of well-defined characteristics of Vannovsky, Mahotin and other leaders of that time [3] .
