Club career
Maclaren is a graduate of the Blackburn Rovers English club. In 2013, he graduated from Rovers Academy and returned to his homeland, where he signed a contract with Perth Glory . On October 13, 2013, in a match against Adelaide United , Jamie made his A-League debut [1] . On October 27, in a duel against Melbourne City , he scored his first goal for Glory [2] .
In the summer of 2015, McLaren moved to Brisbane Roar , signing a two-year contract. On October 8, in his match against Western Sydney Wanderers , he made his debut for a new team [3] . In the same match, Jamie made a “double”, scoring his first goals for the “Brisbane Roar”. On March 12, 2016, in a duel against Melbourne Victory , he made a hat-trick [4] . In his debut season, McLaren scored 20 goals and finished second in the scorers after Uruguayan Bruno Fornaroli .
On April 2, 2017, in a duel against the Central Coast Mariners , he made a hat-trick [5] . In matches of the Asian Champions League against the Japanese Kashima Antlers [6] and the South Korean Ulsan Hyundai [7] McLaren scored three goals. At the end of the season, Jamie scored 19 goals and, together with Besart Berisha, became the A-League top scorer.
In the summer of 2017, Maclaren moved to the German Darmstadt 98 , signing a contract for three years [8] . On August 4, in his match against the Kaiserslautern , he made his debut in the Second Bundesliga [9] . In early 2018, Mclaren moved to the Scottish Hibernian . In his match against Dundee , he made his debut in the Scottish Premier League . On February 3, in a duel against the Rangers , Jamie scored his first goal for the Hibernian [10] . May 13 in a match against the Rangers, he made a hat-trick [11] .
On February 1, 2019 he moved to Melbourne City , signing a contract until 2023. He made his debut on February 9 against Adelaide United , in which he scored the first goal.
International Career
In 2011, Jamie played a few matches for the youth team of Scotland, but then decided to play for Australia.
In 2013, McLaren took part in the Youth World Cup in Turkey as part of the Australian youth team . In the tournament, he played in matches against the teams of Colombia [12] , El Salvador [13] and Turkey [14] . In a duel against the Turks, he scored a goal.
On May 27, 2016, in a friendly match against England, McLaren made his debut for Australia [15] .
In 2017, McLaren took part in the Confederations Cup in Russia . In the tournament, he played in a match against the team of Chile [16] .
In 2018, McLaren took part in the 2018 World Cup in Russia. At the tournament he was a substitute and did not enter the field.
In 2019, he was included in the national team for the Asian Cup in the UAE . On January 11, at the 18th minute of the game, he scored the first goal of his team in the second match of the group stage against the Palestinian team. Australia won the first victory in the tournament with a score of 3: 0.
