History
On the map of the St. Petersburg province of F.F. Schubert in 1834, the village of Fomin or Shumikhin is mentioned, consisting of 34 peasant households [2] .
FOMINA - the village belongs to the Treasury, the number of inhabitants under the audit: 82 m. P., 95 w. p. [3] (1838)
As the village of Shumikhin from 34 yards, it is marked on the map of F. F. Schubert in 1844 [4] .
FOMINA - a village of the State Property Office, on a country road, the number of yards - 37, the number of souls - 87 m. [5] (1856)
FOMINA (SHUMIKHINA) - a state-owned village by the Oyat River, the number of yards - 36, the number of inhabitants: 96 metro stations, 110 railways. n [6] . (1862 year)
According to the military topographic map of the Petrograd and Novgorod provinces of 1863, the village was also called Fomina (Shumikhina) [7] .
In the late XIX - early XX centuries, the village administratively belonged to the Domozhirovsky volost of the 3rd camp of Novoladozhsky district of St. Petersburg province.
According to the "Memorial Book of the St. Petersburg Province" for 1905, the village of Fomino was part of the Fominsk rural society [8] .
From 1917 to 1919, the village was part of the Domozhirovsky volost of the Novoladozh district.
Since 1919, as part of the Fominsk village council of the Pasha volost of the Volkhov district .
Since 1924, as part of the Domozhirovsky village council.
Since 1927, as part of the Pash district [9] [10] .
According to 1933, the village of Fomino was part of the Domozhirovsky village council of the Pash district [11] .
On January 1, 1950, in the village of Fomino there were 64 households and 185 inhabitants [10] .
Since 1955, as part of the Novoladozhsky district .
In 1958, the population of the village was 135 people.
Since 1963, as part of the Volkhov district [9] .
According to the data of 1966 and 1990, the village of Fomino was part of the Domozhirovsky village council [12] [13] .
In 1997, 30 people lived in the village of Fomino in the Domozhirovsky volost, in 2002 - 30 people (all Russians) [14] [15] .
Since January 1, 2006, as part of the Wakhnovakarsky rural settlement.

Geography
The village is located in the western part of the region north of the P21 ( Kola ) highway.
The distance to the administrative center of the settlement is 3 km [17] .
The distance to the nearest railway station Oyat-Volkhovstroevsky is 5 km [12] .
The village is located on the left bank of the Oyat River .
