Zedwitz-Liebenstein, Clemens von

Clemens von Zedwitz-Liebenstein ( German: Clemens Graf von Zedtwitz-Liebenstein ; September 18, 1814 , Liebenstein (now Czech Republic) - November 17, 1896 , Liebenshtein) - Austro-Hungarian poet, count.

Born in a noble Catholic family of Bavarian origin. In 1823-1829 he studied at Theresa Gymnasium in Vienna, then studied at the Eger Gymnasium, after which he entered the University of Prague; I attended various lectures there, but did not choose my specialty. He spent some time in military service, but in 1836 he was discharged and returned to his family estate, from which he rarely left before the end of his life; He was engaged in managing his economy and literary work. In 1872, he was awarded the Order of Franz Joseph for his literary merits, although he never held any government posts. In 1879 he received the right to be called "von Zedwitz-Liebenstein" for himself and his children, being the eldest in the line of inheritance. He was twice married.

He wrote most of his poems in the Eger dialect of the German language. The most famous poems: "As da Haimat" (1877); Wos Funklnoglnais (1880); "Humoristisch satirische Gedichte und triste Lieder" (1880); Alladahand (1882); "Dau bring in au wos" (1893); Vermischte Gedichte (1893); "Parodien u. gereimte deutsche Sprichwörter, metrisch bearb. ”(1894). He was considered a great connoisseur of the Eger dialect; he gave advice on philology to him.
