Stephen Christopher Corica ( born March 24, 1973 , Innisfail , Australia ) is an Australian footballer and midfielder known for playing for Wolverhampton Wanderers , Sydney and Australia . Member of the 1992 and 1996 Olympic Games . Currently coaching the Sydney team.

Club career

 
Cinnamon as part of Sydney

Cinnamon began his career at the Marconi Stallions Club. He played for the team for five seasons and helped her become the champion of the National League .

In 1995, Steve moved to English Leicester City from the Championship , along with his compatriot Zeljko Kalach . On August 12, 1995, he made his debut for the foxes, scoring a goal in the first match.

In 1996, Leicester coach Mark McGee led the Wolverhampton Wanderers and invited Corica there. The transfer amount was 1.1 million pounds. McGee wanted to sign Kalach, but the deal fell through. For four seasons, Steve became one of the leaders of the club after playing more than 100 matches for wolves.

In 2000, Korika accepted the invitation from the Japanese Sanfreche Hiroshima . After two seasons in the J-League, he returned to England , signing a contract with the Walsall club.

In 2005, Steve returned to his homeland after becoming a Sydney footballer. In 2009, he helped the team win the A-League and OFC Champions Cup . In 2010, Korika completed his career.

International Career

In 1989, Steve in the youth national team of Australia took part in the youth world championship in Scotland .

In 1991, Corica played at the Youth World Championships in Portugal .

In 1992, as part of the Olympic team, he took part in the Olympic Games in Barcelona . In the tournament, Steve played in matches against the teams of Mexico [1] and Ghana [2] . In 1993, Coryka made his debut for the Australian national team .

On February 15, 1995, in a friendly match against the Japanese national team, Steve scored his first goal for the national team . In 1996, he took part in the Atlanta Olympics for the second time. At the tournament, Corica played in matches against the teams of France [3] , Saudi Arabia [4] and Spain [5] .

In 2000, Steve won the OFK Nations Cup .

In 2001, he took part in the Confederations Cup in Japan and South Korea . At the tournament, Corica played in matches against teams of Mexico [6] , France [7] , South Korea [8] , Japan [9] and Brazil [10] .
