Born in a sports family very famous in Norway, his father Finn Dag Jagge was a Norwegian tennis champion and his mother Liv Jagge-Kristiansen was a skier and represented Norway at the 1960 and 1964 Olympics (seventh place in slalom in 1964).
In the World Cup, Jagge made his debut on February 23, 1986 , in December 1991 he won his first career victory at the World Cup in slalom. In total, he has 7 victories at the stages of the World Cup, all in slalom. The best achievement in the overall World Cup standings is for Jagge 14th place in the 1991/92 season.
At the 1988 Olympic Games in Calgary, he performed in all types of ski programs, and became 9th in combination and 35th in downhill, in the super giant, giant slalom and slalom did not reach the finish.
At the 1992 Olympic Games in Albertville, he won a gold medal in slalom, 0.28 seconds ahead of the legendary Italian Alberto Tomba , who became the second.
At the 1994 Olympics in Lillehammer, he took 6th place in slalom.
At the 1998 Olympics in Nagano, he became 7th in slalom, in addition he started in combination, but lost his distance.
During his career he participated in eight world championships , the best result of 7th place in combination at the 1987 World Cup and slalom at the 1993 World Cup .
He completed his sports career in 2000 . Later he worked in senior positions in the Norwegian telecommunications company Ludo.
