Kuznetsov, Vladlen Nikolaevich

Vladlen Nikolaevich Kuznetsov ( December 4, 1931 - December 10, 2014 [1] ) - Soviet and Ukrainian film playwright , screenwriter , journalist, publicist, public figure. Honored Artist of Ukraine (1981), Academician of the Academy of Arts of Ukraine (2004). Member of the National Union of Cinematographers of Ukraine (1968), Deputy Chairman of the Union. Member of the Union of Journalists of Ukraine (1959). Prize winner M. Lomonosov Academy of Sciences of the USSR (1965), Republican Prize. J. Galana (1975). For more than 20 years he worked as secretary and first deputy chairman of the National Union of Cinematographers of Ukraine [2] .

Biography

Born in Kharkov in the family of an employee. In 1954 he graduated from the Faculty of Journalism of Kiev State University . In 1954-1977 he worked in the newspaper Pravda Ukrainy (department head and member of the editorial board), in 1977-1986 he was a member of the editorial and script editorial board of the Goskino of the Ukrainian SSR. He was the first chairman of the film criticism section of the Union of Journalists of Ukraine. In 1986, he was elected secretary, then deputy chairman of the Union of Cinematographers of Ukraine. For more than 10 years he has been the chairman of the Organizing Committee of the International Festival of Animated Films "CROC". In 1997 he became a corresponding member of the Academy of Arts of Ukraine , since 2004 - a full member (academician) of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine.

Activities

He is the author of scripts for many films staged at the studios " Kievnauchfilm ", " Ukrkinohronik " and studios in Moscow. According to the scripts of Kuznetsov, more than 200 documentary and popular science films, films and television series were created.

He is the author of about 1000 printed articles on film science topics and film criticism, as well as the first of three planned books, “Ukraine. Third Chance: Film Documents and Conversations with Actors in Recent History” (2003, co-authored).

He was one of the initiators of the creation of the All-Ukrainian society "Memorial" named after Stus (the first in Ukraine officially registered informal public organization).
