Maryin, Alexey Borisovich

Aleksei Borisovich Maryin ( October 29, 1964 , Moscow , RSFSR - August 10, 2016 ) - Soviet and Russian hockey player, goalkeeper, bronze medalist of the World Championship and European champion (1991), champion of the MHL (1994) [1] [2] .

Biography

Alexey Maryin - a graduate of the sports school of CSKA . In the 1983-1984 season, he played for the Sverdlovsk SKA , and then, in 1984-1987, for the Ufa club Salavat Yulaev . After that, he moved to Spartak Moscow, for which he continued to play until the 1992-1993 season. As part of Spartak, Maryin twice won the national championship [2] , twice won the Spengler Cup , in 1990 he was recognized as the best goalkeeper of this international tournament [3] [4] .

As part of the USSR team, he participated in the 1991 World and European Championships , where together with the team he became the bronze medalist of the World Championship, and also won the European Championship title. He also participated in the 1991 Canada Cup [2] . In total, the USSR team played 19 games [5] .

In the 1992-1993 season, Maryin played for the Austrian Graz [2] , in which he became the silver medalist of the Austrian championship [6] [7] .

In 1993-1995 he played for the Togliatti Lada , in which, in 1994, he won the gold medals of the Interethnic Hockey League championship and won the Interethnic Hockey League Cup. In 1995-1996 he played for the Moscow club “Wings of the Soviets” , in 1996-1997 - for SKA (St. Petersburg) , and in 1997-1998 - for the club “Crystal” near Moscow from Elektrostal . In 1998-2000, Maryin played for the Hungarian club Alba Volan , in which he became the champion of Hungary in 1999 [8] .

He died on August 10, 2016 [1] [9] (according to other sources - August 9 [10] ). He was buried in the Khovansky cemetery [10] .
