Lunting ( Chinese уп 龙亭 , pinyin : Lóngtíng ) is the urban subordination district of Kaifeng urban district of Henan Province ( PRC ). The name of the area comes from Lunting Park, which dates back to the Song Empire.

History
In 1913, Kaifeng County (开封 县) was formed, and in 1929 its urbanized part was allocated to the city of Kaifeng. After the city was taken by communist troops during the civil war , at the end of 1948 the Kaifeng Special City (开封 特别 市) was formed; in its northwestern part, the Lunting region was formed. In November 1949, part of Kaifeng County was allocated to the Prigorodny District (郊区).
In 2005, Kaifeng Suburban District was renamed the Jinming District (金 明 区). In 2014, the Jinming District was annexed to Longting District.
