The Kosh-Agach Solar Power Plant is one of the largest solar power plants in Russia and the most powerful (after the Kosh-Agach SES-2 [1] ) power plant of the Altai Republic . Power plant capacity is 10 MW . It was commissioned in 2014. Owns the station on a lease basis LLC Avelar Solar Technology [2] .

The SES project was selected based on the results of the RES project competition in the wholesale market of electric energy and power in 2013 [3] .
History
Work on the construction of the station began in April 2014. [4] A pile field was prepared on an area of 13 hectares , mounting tables were mounted on the installed piles, solar modules were fixed, and all the necessary switching and network equipment was connected.
The station was built by the structures of the Russian company Hevel (a joint venture of Renova Group of Companies and RUSNANO OJSC). According to Oleg Shutkin, the Deputy General Director of the manufacturer of LLC Hevel, the station already at the end of September 2014 allowed to reduce the power flow to nearby territories to zero [5] .
More than half of the equipment involved in the construction of the station was produced on the basis of Russian enterprises in the electrical and metal processing industries. The geography of supplies of components is wide and covers such cities as Krasnoyarsk , Kazan , Cheboksary , Kaluga , Irkutsk , Novosibirsk .
The launch ceremony of the Kosh-Agach SES, in which Russian President Vladimir Putin took part (via teleconference), took place on September 4, 2014 [6] .
The permission to put into operation the first stage was received on November 6, 2014, the second on December 11, 2015. Both stages are qualified generating facilities operating on the basis of renewable energy sources (qualification dates are February 24, 2015 and March 23, 2016, respectively The degree of localization is 70% [2] .
Description
The installed capacity of the Kosh-Agach SES at the end of 2015 amounted to 10 MW. The power plant operates synchronously with the UES of Russia . In the balance of the electric power of the regional energy system, the available capacity of the SES is assumed to be zero, since the power is not guaranteed, and the hour of the maximum load of the energy system occurs in the dark [7] .
In 2015, the production of the Kosh-Agach SES amounted to 5.8 million kWh or 1% of the power consumption of the Altai Republic, the corresponding installed capacity utilization factor is 13% [7] .
The power plant is located near the villages of Kosh-Agach and Telengit-Sortogoy in the south of the Altai Republic at an altitude of about 1800 meters above sea level. Kosh-Agachsky district of the Altai Republic is one of the sunniest places in Russia, there are more than 300 sunny days a year, and the level of specific electricity generation reaches 1400 kWh per m² per year.
The cost of construction amounted to 570 million rubles [8] .
