Biography
He graduated from a theological school on the island of Halki .
On February 6, 1946, Patriarch Maxim V of Constantinople in the Holy Trinity Church at the Halka Theological School was ordained a deacon .
On October 2, 1948, Metropolitan Neocesarea Chrysostomos (Coroneos) was ordained to the rank of presbyter .
In 1949 he was appointed abbot of the stavropegic monastery of Maher of the Cyprus Orthodox Church .
Consisted under the pseudonym "Φλέσσας" in EOKA , an underground organization of Greek Cypriots fighting for the liberation of Cyprus. He was arrested by the British occupation authorities, convicted, and together with other clergymen spent in prison for about three and a half years.
He was released after the intervention of the Patriarch of Constantinople and was sent to the UK.
On December 14, 1980, he was ordained bishop of Patara , vicar of the Thyatira Archbishopric.
From 1994 to 1996, hegumen of the monastery of the Holy Archangels in the suburb of Athens. Since 1998, he retired.
Died December 20, 2009 in Athens.
