Gloriosa flavovirens

Gloriosa flavovirens (lat.) - a species of monocotyledonous plants of the genus Gloriosa ( Gloriosa ) of the Colchicaceae family. The current taxonomic name was described by botanists John Manning and Annika Winnersten in 2007 [2] [3] .

Gloriosa flavovirens ( Dammer ) JC Manning & Vinn. , 2007

Before moving to the genus Gloriosis, the taxon was included in the genus Littonia ( nom ) . rej. and described under the name Littonia flavovirens Dammer basionym [2] ; Due to ongoing debate on the classification of the genera Gloriosa and Littonia [4], in some sources the plant is described under the old name [5] .

Distribution and habitat

Endemic of Angola [6] .

Botanical Description

Tuberous geophyte [6] .

The stem is about 30 cm high [5] .

The leaves are lanceolate-lanceolate, bent, up to 6 × 2.5 cm in size [5] .

Single flowers; petals are lanceolate, yellowish-green in color [5] .
