Keilson, Max

Max Keilson ( him. Max Keilson ; September 7, 1900 , Halle - November 9, 1953 , Berlin ) - German graphic artist and journalist.

Biography

Keilson learned from the artist-decorator, he later studied in the city school of arts and crafts in Berlin. Since 1924, engaged in graphics and literary activities. In 1919, he joined the Independent Social-Democratic Party of Germany , in 1920 - the Communist Party of Germany . From 1926 he headed the central workshop of the visual propaganda propaganda of the KKE. In 1928 he became one of the co-founders of the Association of Revolutionary Masters of Fine Arts of Germany and was elected its manager. He taught at the Marxist Workers' School (MASCH).

After the National Socialists came to power, Keilson was arrested. After his release, he emigrated to Prague , then moved to Paris and eventually moved to the USSR . In the USSR he represented Germany in the secretariat of the IBRH . During World War II, Keilson worked as an editor for the Free Germany radio station. In June 1945 he returned to Berlin. In 1946 he was appointed chief editor of the newspaper "Forverts" and was elected the first chairman of the German Press Union . In 1949, Keilson was appointed head of the press department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the GDR . From 1950, he headed the department of the USSR Department of Foreign Affairs of the GDR.

In 1927, Max Keilson married communist Grete Schnate . He was buried in the Socialist Memorial at the Friedrichsfeld Central Cemetery .
