KrAZ-6446 is a Ukrainian heavy three-axle truck tractor with a 6 × 6 wheel arrangement . Serially produced by the Kremenchug Automobile Plant since 1994.

History
In September 2007, the KrAZ-6446 tractor participated in the strategic command and staff exercises of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for operational support and logistics “Arteria-2007”, according to the results of the exercises, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine A.S. Gritsenko said that the KrAZ vehicles proved to be positive and future will be purchased for the armed forces of Ukraine [1] [2] .
By the beginning of 2008, the KrAZ-6446 tractors were included in the list of the main products of AvtoKrAZ Holding Company (in terms of production volumes, they occupied the third place and were second only to the KrAZ-6322 and KrAZ-5133ВE trucks ) [3] .
Later, at the end of 2008, it was decided to make KrAZ the main type of truck in the Ukrainian army [4] .
KrAZ-6446 tractors are used for transportation of heavy loads, large-sized equipment, and also as a part of complexes (including the S-300 medium-range anti-aircraft missile system and the 80K6 three-coordinate radar station of the all-round visibility) [5] .
A number of KrAZ-6446 were exported.
- So, in December 2012, 12 tractors were purchased by Burenergo (Novy Urengoy) [6]
- On December 10, 2013, another KrAZ T17.1EX "Burlak" tractor was purchased by the Russian company KrAZ-Chelyabinsk [7]
By the beginning of 2016, the Krukovka Car-Building Plant developed for KrAZ-6446 a special semi-trailer KVSZ-5001.000 for transporting armored vehicles [8] .

- KrAZ-6446 type 2 - civilian version, maximum towed semi-trailer weight - 40,000 kg
- KrAZ-6446 "Titan-01" - an army version
Further development of the model is the KrAZ-6446 tractor type 3 (with the new YaMZ-6581.10-06 engine), after completion of the work it received the name KrAZ T17.0EX “Burlak” [9] .
Operator countries
- Azerbaijan : on November 10, 2005, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense purchased 8 KrAZ-6446 tractors [10]
- Ukraine : in 2008, the KrAZ-6446 tractor and a semi-trailer for it passed certification and were allowed to be used in the armed forces of Ukraine [11] . In 2014, a batch of KrAZ-6446 trucks was purchased and transferred to the troops [12] . In January 2016, another KrAZ-6446 batch was handed over to the troops (vehicles of this type should become a replacement for Soviet-made MAZ-537 tractors) [13]
- Kazakhstan : in July 2012, Ukroboronservis Group of Companies entered into a contract with the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the overhaul of one division of the S -300PS anti-aircraft missile systems. During the repair, air defense systems were installed on KrAZ-6446 truck semitrailers . After completion of the work, the division was returned to Kazakhstan in July 2013 [14]

Interesting Facts
- It was released on January 27, 2006 KrAZ-6446 became the 800-thousandth car produced by the Kremenchug Automobile Plant [16]
