Geography
The village is located 50 km from Ryazan on the right bank of the Oka River in front of the district center. The nearest settlements are the village of Fatyanovka to the north, the village of Isady to the east, the village of Shatrishche to the south and Spassk-Ryazan to the west.
History
The village of Old Ryazan arose on the site of the city of Ryazan , destroyed in 1237 by the Mongol-Tatars .
In scribe books for 1629, the village of Old Ryazan appears "that there was a hillfort on the banks of the Oka River on the Ryazan side, and to it ... the village of Rezantsy ... and in the village there is the Church of the Nativity of the Most Holy Mother of God and the Church of the Passion bearers of Christ Boris and Gleb" [2] .
In 1905, the village belonged to the Shatrishchensky volost of the Spassky district of the Ryazan province and had 69 yards with a population of 978 people [3] .

Transport and Communications
The village is served by the rural post office of Fatyanovka (postcode 391064).
Attractions
To the southeast of the village is the largest archaeological site - the ancient settlement of Ryazan .
The Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord located in the village, built in 1870 by the landowner A.F. Sterligov, is an architectural monument of federal significance [4] .
