(21284) Pandion ( lat. Pandion , Greek Πανδίων ) is a typical Trojan asteroid of Jupiter moving at the Lagrange point L 4 , 60 ° ahead of the planet. The asteroid was discovered on October 5, 1996 by the Belgian astronomer Eric Elst at the La Silla Observatory and named after one of the characters in ancient Greek mythology , namely, King Pandion I.
