History
Since 1913, these places have been part of Zhengxian County (郑 县). In 1948, a distinction was made: the urbanized territory of the county was allocated to the city of Zhengzhou, and only the countryside remained in the county. In 1953, Zhengxian County was liquidated, and its territory became the Suburban (郊区) Zhengzhou District.
In 1960, the Jinshui commune was created as part of the Prigorodny District. In April 1961, it was transformed into the Jinshui area.
Administrative Division
The district is divided into 19 street committees .
