Michael Peka ( born March 26, 1974 , Toronto , Ontario ) is a Canadian hockey coach and manager, formerly a professional Canadian hockey player, center forward. Olympic champion in 2002.

Game career
In the 1992 NHL draft, he was selected in round 2 under a total number 40 by the Vancouver Canucks team. July 8, 1995 traded at Buffalo Sabers . From 1997 to 2000 he was the captain of the Buffalo. Did not play in the 2000/01 season . June 24, 2001 traded in the New York Islanders . From 2001 to 2004 he was the captain of the Islanders. August 3, 2005 traded in the Edmonton Oilers . On July 18, 2006, as an unrestrictedly free agent, he signed a contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs .
