Reel 2 Real is an American project known as the performer of one of the biggest dance hits of the 1990s in Europe - “I Like to Move It” . In addition, another five or six songs of the group fell into the top twenty in the UK [1] . The name “Reel 2 Real” is a pun: the term “reel-to-reel” (magnetic recording using coils) is literally translated “from bobbin to bobbin”, and the homophone “reel to real” means “from bobbin to reality”.

The group was the brainchild of New York DJ of Colombian and Dominican origin Eric Morillo , who wanted to combine the energy of the Latin American house with the structure and rhythm of reggae. First, he remixed several reggae singles, and then worked with the famous Latin American performer El General on the platinum single of that “Muevelo”. After another big dance hit, “The New Anthem / Funk Buddha”, Eric became interested in the record label “Strictly Rhythm” and signed a contract with him [1] .
Then he was introduced to a vocalist born in Trinidad named Mad Stuntman ( Mad Stuntman (Mad Stuntman), real name Mark Kuoshi). Morillo created the group “Reel 2 Real” and together with Stantman in 1993 and released the famous single “I Like to Move It” [1] .
