Career

Josef Muller began his football career at the Phoenix club from Ludwigshafen am Rhein . In 1921 he received the first challenge to the national team and on March 26, 1921 played a match against the Swiss team , which ended in a 2-2 draw [2] .

In the same 1921, he moved to Greuther , with whom he managed to become the champion of Germany in the 1925/26 season . Then he moved to Wuerzburger , and in 1932 - to Werder , and in both of them he was a playing coach. In 1928 he completed a career in the national team, having played 12 matches for it and scoring 6 goals [3] .

Then he coached various clubs, including St. Pauli , Pirmasens , Stuttgart Kickers [4] . Muller completed his coaching career at his first Ludwigshafen club in 1952.
