Group History
The early years (2005-2006)
The official date of birth of What We Feel is November 26, 2005 [1] . On this day, the group held its first rehearsal, after which the permanent composition of the group was confirmed
- hbobh - vocals
- Dima - Guitar
- Sheena - Guitar
- Tanker - Bass
- Ches - Drums
At the first rehearsals, 5 songs were learned based on material invented by Sheena. However, there was one problem - Sheena lived in St. Petersburg and could attend rehearsals only once a month, because of which rehearsals were often performed in a truncated composition ('one guitar') and songs of the same composition were taught according to the scheme 'music first, then lyrics '. Soon, Dima and Tankist joined the songwriting process and so the songs appeared for a long time included in the group’s concert program - 'Voice of Animals',' Silence ',' My Life ',' Blows of Fate 'written by Sheena, as well as' My Stage', ' For each other ',' Good Night White Pride ', written by Dima and the Tankman. In addition, drummer Ches made an arrangement for another well-known song by the group called 'More Than Music'. All the texts in the group until 2007 were written by vocalist xBobomh.
The first concert of What We Feel took place on February 25, 2006 in the Moscow club Metka, together with such well-known bands in hardcore punk circles as Verification Line (Moscow), Crowd Control (St. Petersburg), Loa Loa (Moscow), Dead Pony Riders (Ufa). Despite the fact that the participants of What We Feel themselves consider that first performance to be a failure, the group was well received by the public and since then the active concert life of the musicians began. The very next day after the first concert, WWF gives a second concert at the Jerry Rubin Club with Dead Pony Riders , and will soon be performing at the Rocks Club in early March with Distemper , Turbolax and Unsubs , where the group’s 10-song program is well received by the public . In April, What We Feel goes on a tour of Russia and Ukraine with the German hardcore team Tackleberry , which will positively affect the fate of the group in the future. At the end of May, the group starts demo recording their songs at Studio 2 of the Aircraft in St. Petersburg, where the local label Karma Mira Records helps the group to record and ensure the most appropriate financial conditions. As a result, the recording cost the group $ 350, and the recorded songs were subsequently released as a split with the German hardcore band The Force Within , as well as being re-recorded on the first album What We Feel 'Last War'.
In the same summer of 2006, due to personal, stylistic and ideological differences, Shin left the group. His last performance as a part of What We Feel is the group's performance at the Kronstadt Punk Festival, where the group presented 'Demo 2006', consisting of 4 songs and distributed in a circulation of 50 copies. Tire is replaced by Miter, which not only fits perfectly into the composition, but also remakes most of the team's arrangements for the better. In addition, in addition to the already reworked parts, the group writes songs in which Sheena did not take part - 'For Each Other', 'Our Friends', 'Earth Crisis', 'Last War' and 'Deviation from the Scheme'.
After recording and information, the group became concerned about the distribution of the material. All Moscow labels that existed at that time, for various reasons and under various pretexts, rejected the record. As a result, the songs recorded with Shina were published as a split with The Force Within (Otshivalov worked on the cover design), which was noisily presented in Moscow at the PiROGI club on Nikolskaya, and 13 songs recorded with Miter were decided to be published on Karma Mira with the support of German label Anna Nadel Records .
As a result, the above labels release an album called 'Last War' at the very beginning of 2007, MC Generator took part in the design of the cover. The album unexpectedly received high reviews not only in hardcore circles, but also in a number of other musical parties. Subsequently, the Last War was reprinted more than once, and in 2008 it was even published on vinyl.
Golden Time (2007)
After an equally successful winter presentation of the album in the same Pirogs, What We Feel begins to prepare for the first European tour. However, due to problems with the recruiting office, xBobx cannot get a passport for a long time, therefore, Sanya 'Malysh' from the popular St. Petersburg d-beat band Distress is accepted as a session vocalist, but soon the problem of xBob with a passport is solved and in the end it was decided to leave two remake vocalists and vocal parts for two people. In this composition, the team went on a European tour of 16 concerts with Tackleberry bands and Hausvabot , who turned out to be very successful, and the Kid received an offer to enter What We Feel on an ongoing basis. Upon the return of What We Feel, they played two significant concerts for the group in Kaliningrad and Kirov, where the group played accompanied by such teams as Toro Bravo (Lithuania), Golod & Tetka (Kaliningrad), Last Point (Kaliningrad), Wheel4x (Kaliningrad), XHARAMx ( Moscow), Unsubs (Kirov), Ze Smetana (Kirov). Both concerts are one of the most successful in the history of the group.
In May 2007, What We Feel went on a mini-tour with The Force Within Germans, with whom he gave one concert in Petrozavodsk and two concerts in St. Petersburg. In addition, in the summer of 2007 the group played two concerts in Moscow - at the opening act of the Belarusian Oi! Band Mister X and at the birthday of the Moscow pop-punk band Parasites . Then What We Feel accepts the offer of the Minsk hardcore team Devil Shots Devil to record a split [5] , which was done on the same studio 2 planes, where new tracks' Apolitical scam ',' Together ',' Right were recorded in a week Earth ',' Face to Face 'and' Crust song '. And although the quality of the release, according to the musicians, turned out to be below average, the split was nevertheless well received. The tour presentation of the release, organized on its own in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Minsk, was also successful.
Shortly after the split recording, Kid leaves the band due to being busy in his main group, which does not affect the relationship between What We Feel and Distress, which sometimes even give concerts together.
And at the end of 2007, the musicians give another mini-tour with the Bulgarian group Last Hope, visiting Kirov and Bryansk. The last concert was organized by the vocalist of the local group 32, Roman, who has since become the permanent designer of all subsequent releases of What We Feel. In addition, the Moscow concert of the group at the Tabula Ras club was successful with the participation of teams such as Last Hope, Changes and XHARAMX.
