He graduated from the Moscow Art Theater (1936). Since 1941, he worked at the State Research and Design Institute of Nitrogen Industry and Organic Synthesis Products.
Specialist in the field of gas research at high and ultrahigh pressures. One of the authors of the discovery of a new type of gas-gas phase equilibria: together with I.R. Krichevsky and P.E. Bolshakov, for the first time showed that at a pressure of several thousand atmospheres some gas mixtures (for example, a mixture of ammonia with nitrogen) are stratified (1941) .
He created a setup for studying the compressibility of gases at pressures up to 10 kbar and temperatures up to 4000 degrees.
Doctor of Chemical Sciences (1955). The topic of the dissertation is "Phase equilibria in systems containing a gas phase at ultrahigh pressures."
Stalin Prize (1943). Awarded with government awards.
Works:
- Separation of gas mixtures. M., 1969;
- The technique of physical and chemical research at high and ultrahigh pressures. 4th ed. M., 1976;
- Dense gases. M., 1977.
