History
Locals tell the story of Catherine's stay in Kamenka. However, there is no mention of such a settlement until the second half of the 19th century. The village is not indicated on Mende's maps of 1850.
In February 1778, she established the Pereyaslavl-Ryazan province, and in August of that year she decided to see how her subjects live in central Russia. The caretaker with her was Lieutenant General Mikhail Nikitich Krechetnikov, to whom she entrusted the creation of the province. One of the tsar’s horse-drawn train stops was planned in the village of Kamenka, located on both sides of the highway that lies to the present village of Kovalinka.
In the morning, a loss was discovered in the royal carriage: the "suitcases" disappeared - that was the name of the entire luggage compartment of the aft carriage. Rotated by pests, the peasants quickly admitted who stole them. In memory of the event, the empress ordered: I would leave the part of the village of Kamenka, where Her Majesty deigned to spend the night, to dignify Chemodanova to hide for the time being to conceal the bloody male backsides.
Suitcase
Nikitino station was opened during the construction in 1866 of the Ryazan-Ural Railway. A station settlement Nikitinsky was founded under her; in 1904, the station and the village were named Chemodanovka.
On December 8, 1914, Emperor Nicholas II stopped for the night at Chemodanivka Station.
Currently, the village does not exist, as it was annexed to the village of Kamenka.
