Cosmos-1364 ( Strela-1M No. 240 ) is a telecommunications satellite of the Strela-1M series of the USSR Ministry of Defense .

The satellite was launched on May 6, 1982 from the launch pad 132/2 of the Plesetsk cosmodrome with the Cosmos-3M launch vehicle along with seven other Strela-1M satellites. [1] The satellites were put into low Earth orbit for relaying messages in the “record-play” mode, storing the message in the on-board memory and relaying it at a specified time or by command from the Earth in the visibility range of the receiving subscriber. [2]
