Systematics
Most sources consider a monotype genus [4] [5] with a single species of Angoseseli mossamedensis [6] ; However, a number of sources (in particular, “ The Plant List ”) distinguish up to two plant species in the genus [2] :
- Angoseseli mazzocchii-alamannii Chiov.
- Angoseseli mossamedensis ( Welw. Ex Hiern ) C.Norman
The type species is Angoseseli mazzocchii-alamannii [3] .
Distribution, general characteristics
The genus (at least one of its species) is endemic to Angola [4] [5] [6] .
Flowers with ovate-lanceolate, white petals twisted at the edges. The fruit is cylindrical-elliptical in shape, densely pubescent, with a wide flap. Seeds are flat [7] .
