Jacques Berria-Saint-Prix (September 22, 1769, Grenoble - October 4, 1865, Paris ) - French lawyer, lawyer, legal scholar and teacher.

Born in the family of a prosecutor, his mother also worked in court. He studied law first in his native Grenoble, then entered the university in Orange, then returned to Grenoble and began to study botany and natural science. He supported the Great French Revolution and in 1790 joined the National Guard. From 1796 to 1804 he taught at the Isere Private School. In 1805 he headed the Department of Civil and Criminal Law and Procedure at the School of Law in Grenoble. He was an active supporter of the Napoleon Bonaparte regime. In 1819, he transferred to the same position at the Law Faculty of the University of Paris , where he taught until the end of his life.
He was a member of many scientific societies, in 1840 he was elected a member of the Academy of Moral and Political Sciences . He left a large number of scientific works on jurisprudence and management . The most important works: “Cours de procédure civile” (Grenoble, 1808); “Cours de droit criminel” (Grenoble, 1807); “Histoire du droit romain” (Paris, 1821); "Jeanne d'Arc, ou Coup d'oeil sur les révolutions de France au temps de Charles VI et de Charles VII" (Paris, 1817) and the novel "L'Amour et la philosophie" (Paris, 1807).
