Biography

Born on September 1, 1868 in Sigmaringen Castle ( Hohenzollern Province ).

In 1904, the German Kaiser Wilhelm II sent Prince Carl Anton Hohenzollern as his observer to the theater of operations of the Russo-Japanese War.

In 1909, the prince acquired the castle of Assydy in the city of Andernach .

In January 1914, Prince Charles Anton was promoted to lieutenant-general of the Prussian army and became commander of the 1st Guards Dragoons regiment named after the Queen of Great Britain and Ireland, Victoria. Member of the First World War .

On February 21, 1919, the 50-year-old prince Karl Anton Hohenzollern died in his castle Named in the city of Andernach . Later, his remains were reburied in the monastery Hedigen in Sigmaringen .

Family and children

On May 28, 1894, in Brussels, he married his cousin, Princess Josephine Caroline of Belgium ( October 18, 1872 , Brussels , on January 6, 1958 , Namur ), daughter of Prince Philip, Count of Flanders , and Princess Maria Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen . Karl Anton and Josephine Caroline had four children:
