Star (football club, Vyborg)

In 1947, the team first took part in the RSFSR Cup among physical education teams, performing under the name Dynamo (Vyborg), according to other sources as Dynamo (Leningrad Region).

Since 1948, the club changed its departmental affiliation and began to represent the Soviet Army . In 1948-1953 he played under the name "House of Officers" (DO), represented the House of Officers named after Kirov of the Leningrad Military District . During this period, he repeatedly became the champion (1948 - as the team of Vyborg, in 1950 and 1952 - as the DO-2) and the owner of the Leningrad Region Cup (1948 - as the team of Vyborg, in 1949 - as the DO, in 1950 and 1951 - as DO-2), in 1952 he became a Cup finalist, losing to the Kronstadt team. In the country's championship, DO won the tournament of the northern zone of the championship of the RSFSR among KFK (1951 and 1952), in 1952 it became a bronze medalist of the championship of the RSFSR among KFK. In 1953, together with other army teams of the USSR, it was disbanded.

A few years later, the club was revived under the same name, later - under the name "Star". In 1959, he once again won the championship of the region. In 1968 and 1969 he performed in competitions of teams of masters in class "B" . In 1968, Zvezda took the 2nd place among 14 teams in the zonal tournament and reached the semi-finals of Class B among the teams of the RSFSR, but could not get further. Three times in a row, in 1968-1970, she won the Cup of the Leningrad Region, also in 1969 became the owner of the North Cup, and in 1968 and 1970 - its finalist. In 1970, she became the owner of silver medals of the championship of the region, and in 1971 and 1972 - its winner.

In the future, “Star” continued to perform in the championship of the Leningrad region, but without much success, later ceased to exist.

The principal rival of the army club was the civilian team from Vyborg (“Sail” / “Energy” / “Vanguard”), which repeatedly became the champion and owner of the Regional Cup, but never performed at the level of the teams of masters.
