The football club was founded on October 20, 1906 by a group of railway workers, the team got its name from the British railway company Córdoba Central Railway and the eponymous narrow-gauge railway that connected the Retiro metropolitan railway station to Cordoba and passing through Rosario . [one]
Central Cordoba receives guest teams at Gabino Sosa’s own stadium, which now seats around 18,000 spectators and was named in November 1969 in honor of Gabino Sosa , an outstanding football club player in the 1920s and 30s.
The most important rival for Central Cordoba are their fellow countrymen, the club Argentino de Rosario . [2] Their standoff is referred to as “Clasico Rosarino” ( Spanish: Clásico mendocino ), as is the rivalry between the two leading clubs Rosario, “ Newell Old Boys ” and “ Rosario Central ”. The last “Central Cordoba” was rarely met due to the difference in class, however, during its two-year stay in Example “Central Cordoba”, they managed to double-beat “ Newell Old Boys ” (3: 1 in 1958 and 2: 1 in the next) and also twice Rosario Central (2: 1 and 1: 0 in the 1959 season).
Central Cordova played 2 times in Example : in 1958 [3] and 1959 [4] years. Subsequently, 4 times, Central Cordova was close to returning to the elite of Argentine football: in 1974, 1991, 1993 and 1997. In addition, she won the Tournament of Governor Luciano Molinas, the local football competition of the province of Santa Fe, 9 times from 1932 to 1989. [five]
