History
The football club was founded on June 16, 1907. The best years of the club came in the 1970s, when the club regularly participated in the Regional Tournament ( Spanish Torneo Regional ), which also served as a qualifier for identifying participants in the Nacional Tournament, which had the status of the Argentina National Football Championship . In 1974, 1976 and 1977 Atletico Paraná missed a chance to get into the elite tournament, losing the finals of the Regional tournament. [one]
Following the results of the Torneo Federal 2014, the club won a historic advance in Example B Nacional , the second most significant league of Argentina, having beaten Sportivo Patria from Formosa in one of the finals of the tournament following two meetings (5: 1). [2]
Atletico Parana hosts guest teams at the Pedro Mútio Stadium, which now seats around 6,000 spectators. [3]
The principal rivals for Atletico Paraná are the teams from his city: Patronato and Atletico Belgrano, the Atletico Paraná confrontation with the latter is known as Clasico Paranaense ( Clásico paranaense ). With the "Patronato" the club first met at the national level only in the 2002/2003 season [4] in the framework of Tornio Argentino B , the fourth division in the system of Argentina's football leagues .
Atletico Paraná became the winner of the Paranaense League 22 times (a regional tournament), from 1949 to 2008. [5] “Atletico Parana” is inferior in number of titles in this tournament only to the team “ Patronato ” (32).
