Biography
Agatha Arteeva was born in the village of Mohcha (now Izhma region of the Komi Republic ) in a family of nomadic reindeer herders - Komi-Izhmians . In the 1930s, the family moved to the village of Karatayka of the Nenets National District . Since 1939 Agafya Arteeva - a member of the collective farm. KE Voroshilov in the village Karatayka .
Agafi Timofeevna’s husband, a hunter, died with the crew of the Komsomolets towing steamer in 1942. After that, Agafya took up the craft of her husband. The work was hard, I had to walk 40-50 kilometers a day across the tundra, setting traps for the beast. Agafya Timofeevna handed over the caught prey to the state. Forty-five years - from 1942 to 1987 - worked as a hunter Agafya Arteeva.
From 1947 to 1957 was the winner of the All-Union socialist competition of hunters. Participant VSHV . Deputy of the Yushar Tundra Council (elected in 1956).
Awards
In 1971, she was awarded the Order of Lenin for her valiant work. She was also awarded the medal "For Valiant Labor" and "In honor of the 50th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War" .
