Reviews
Scott Janow of Allmusic noted in his review:
| Larry, who, like most organists, originally sounded close to Jimmy Smith , took a big step away from the dominant influence in this lively and colorful program. All music, with the exception of the “Blues” blues, is quite complex, distinctive, and shows that Young is very aware of the modal approach of John Coltrane [1] . |
