Grossman, Evgeny Pavlovich

Evgeny Pavlovich Grossman (1910-1953) - Soviet scientist in the field of aerodynamics, one of the founders of the Soviet scientific school of aeroelasticity. Doctor of Technical Sciences (1940), Professor (1949). Laureate of the Stalin Prize (1942).

Biography

In 1932 he graduated from the aeromechanical faculty of Kazan University . He worked in the experimental aerodynamic department of TsAGI (Central Aerohydrodynamic Institute). In 1945-1949 - Head of the TsAGI Graduate School [1] .

He is the author of studies on self-oscillations of aircraft structures, wing divergence, reverse and aileron efficiency. [2]

The 1942 Stalin Prize, together with MV Keldysh , for the scientific work Design of an Aircraft for Flutter, Wing Fluctuations with an Elastically Attached Motor, and Flexural-Aileron Flutter.
