Biography
Born March 15 (March 3, old style) in 1909 in the Kherson province , in the Jewish agricultural colony Novoberislav .
In 1932 he graduated from the Zaporizhzhya Engineering Institute (Faculty of Design) and joined the Kommunar Zaporizhzhya combine plant . Shortly before that, in 1930, the first Soviet trailed combine harvester Kommunar was created at this plant. Soon he became the chief designer of the Zaporizhzhya combine plant, and then - the chief designer at the Lyubertsy factory of agricultural machinery named after Ukhtomsky , where work was underway on SKAG combines.
During the war, in evacuation, Canaan Ilyich Isakson worked at one of the Siberian aircraft factories that produced aircraft engines [1] . After the war, he took the position of general designer for self-propelled combines, heading a special design bureau at the Tula combine plant, which organized the serial production of the first Soviet self-propelled combine Stalinets-4 .
In 1953, Kh. I. Isakson accepted the invitation to head the Taganrog city, which was established by order of the USSR Ministry of Engineering on November 21, 1953, of the State Design Bureau for Self-Propelled Grain Harvesters and Cotton Harvesting Machines in Non-Irrigated Areas, which was renamed the USSR Council of Ministers Decree of November 6, 1958 State Special Design Bureau for Combine Harvesters and Self-Propelled Chassis. Under his direct leadership in Taganrog, SK-3 , SK-4 , SK-5 "Niva" , SK-6 "Kolos" self-propelled harvesters, the SS-75 "Taganrozhets" self-propelled chassis, as well as a large number of experimental vehicles, were created. In 1971, Kh. I. Izakson defended his thesis for the degree of candidate of technical sciences on the topic "Creation of technical means for combine harvesting of grain crops."
Canaan Ilyich Isakson died on April 4, 1985 in Taganrog . He was buried in the "Walk of Fame" of the Nikolaev cemetery .
